Micromedia Voice and SMS Gateway
Simple transmission of alarms
To facilitate the transmission of alarms present in an automated technical installation, we have developed an application embedded in a cellular gateway compatible with 2G / 3G / 4G networks.
This program adds features that greatly simplify the transmission of incoming and outgoing voice telephone calls from our ALERT software solution, as well as the sending and receiving of SMS. Thanks to this 2-in-1 solution, there is no longer any need for a telephone line dedicated to voice calls and a GSM modem for sending SMS, as the transmission of information is ensured by the same equipment.
Additional security feature: Watchdog
Our embedded application also adds an additional security feature called “Watchdog” which allows self-monitoring of the link between ALERT and the cellular gateway. If the connection is interrupted, the gateway can notify, autonomously and by SMS, one or more recipients. Thus, you will be notified immediately in the event of a failure of your on-call management system.
Cybersecurity
The Micromedia Voice & SMS gateway is protected by an integrated firewall.
All the communication ports not necessary for its operation are blocked in order to prevent any intrusion attempts.
Too low network coverage?
If your gateway is in an area where the cellular network coverage is too weak, a basement for example, there are two solutions:
- Add a remote antenna with an antenna cable extension
(from 2.5 meters to 20 meters). - Move the gateway to the site, connecting it to your IP network from a location with good cellular network coverage.
Please note that the gateway must be configured on an accessible IP network by the ALERT server and connected to an authorized network device on this IP network.
